nothing.

ChessFlex for Android has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and it does not ask for internet access: the app cannot send anything anywhere. The chess engine, the bots, the coach and its voices all run on your phone. It does not collect, store or transmit any personal data to Labham LLC.

Data We Collect

None. ChessFlex does not collect any personal information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers or location data. There is no account to create, and no email, phone number, real name, age or photo is ever requested.

Your Identity

On first launch, ChessFlex creates a local profile: a handle you choose (a pseudonym; you are never asked for your real name) and a random identifier made on your phone. It is not your device's Android ID or advertising ID, and it never leaves the phone. Your profile, ratings, game history and settings are stored only in the app's private storage, are not backed up to the cloud or copied to a new phone, and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

Playing Games

You play against the built-in bots, or with a friend passing the same phone. There is no online play, no chat and no way for anyone to contact you through the app.

Scanning a Position

If you use "Scan a position", you pick a picture with Android's photo picker, which shares only the one image you choose. ChessFlex reads the board from it on your phone and keeps only the position; the picture is not stored or sent anywhere. The app has no camera or storage permission.

Voices

The coach speaks through the text-to-speech engine installed on your phone. ChessFlex sends it only the line to be spoken; that engine is provided by your phone's maker or Google and is governed by its provider's privacy terms.

Sharing

Nothing is shared unless you tap Share. A game recap card or a game record (PGN) then goes, through Android's share sheet, only to the app you choose.

In-App Purchases

ChessFlex Study is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Google Play. Labham LLC does not receive or store any payment information. Google's privacy policy governs that transaction.

Third-Party Services

ChessFlex does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs.

Children's Privacy

ChessFlex does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to collect, and there is no channel through which anyone could contact a child.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
